BITEC
SUCCESS STORY BITEC
Relocates, Expands with SBA 504 Financing from Citywide
With
the help of an SBA (Small Business Administration) 504 loan
administered by CityWide Development Corporation, BITEC was
able to purchase and move to a new facility twice the size
as its previous location. A custom precision machine shop
owned by Beverly Bleicher, BITEC specializes in machining
products for the mechanical testing, aerospace, defense,
agriculture, nuclear, medical and petroleum industries.
Established
by Bleicher in 1985, BITEC primarily serves customers in
defense-related industries, including the US government.
BITEC’s services include the manufacture of mechanical test
specimens and composites, and custom CNC machining — all
performed under an ISO9002 Registered quality system that
meets the requirements of the Department of Defense,
Department of Energy, and NASA . Over the years, BITEC has
supplied complex components for the space shuttle’s main
engine, aircraft brakes and wheels, tanks, defense systems,
ships and submarines.
In addition
to doubling the company’s previous work space, BITEC’s new
facility at 220 Jersey Street provides better material
handling capabilities and is closer to Wright Patterson Air
Force Base, where many of BITEC’s customers are located.
Bleicher,
the Miami Valley’s only minority female tool & die business
owner, decided to pursue her dream of owning her own
business following nine years as an Account Manager with
Dayton Progress. Under her leadership, BITEC has earned the
industry’s distinctive “certified vendor” status with many
Fortune 500 companies, allowing the company to ship its
products into its customer’s operation for direct inclusion
into inventory.
Bleicher
encourages other small business owners to check into
CityWide’s SBA 504 loan program. “The services that CityWide
and the SBA provide are invaluable to small developing
businesses like mine,” she said. “Due to financial
challenges faced by small businesses, these types of loan
services are sometimes the only way a small business can
access the capital required for growth. Ultimately, these
loan programs do even more by strengthening small business,
and that, in turn, will provide jobs to our local
community." |
